Get fired up!
Your board and staff are pleased to announce that two of the four barbecues will be available for use beginning this Friday evening, May 29, 2020. (This is in addition to every other picnic table, the beach club sand areas, outside bathroom and paddle tennis courts – which are all currently accessible.)
Please note that the playground equipment and interior of the beach club will remain closed until further notice, but will be adjusted as Federal, State and Local orders change.
Staff will be on hand this weekend to assist with cleaning the tables, sanitizing the outside bathroom, and to keep things orderly.
Outside weekend hours are as follows:
Friday, May 29th, from 4 pm – 10 pm (grills close at 9 pm)
Saturday, May 30th, from 11 am— 10 pm (grills close at 9 pm)
Sunday, May 31st, from 11 am – 8 pm (grills close at 7 pm)
IMPORTANT:
STARTING THIS WEEKEND, WRISTBANDS WILL BE REQUIRED. BRING YOUR WRISTBAND REQUEST CARD TO GET YOURS. IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE, BRING IDENTIFICATION TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE A SHORECLIFFS RESIDENT. THIS WILL HELP DETER NON-RESIDENTS FROM INVADING OUR BEACH AND PICNIC AREA, WHICH HAS BEEN A HUGE PROBLEM.
As a reminder, please continue to follow social distancing, handwashing, and public health mandates to help protect our community. We have ample paper towels, trash receptacles, anti-bacterial hand gels, and soap available in the outside bathroom. We also have cleansing products and hand sanitizer available in the plastic bin on the stairs, right in front of the picnic tables.
Let’s chill and grill :)

Things are looking even brighter!
Your board and staff are pleased to report that every other picnic table is available for use effective immediately. (This is in addition to the beach club sand areas, outside bathroom and paddle tennis courts – which are all currently accessible.)
Please note that the playground equipment and the interior of the beach club will remain closed until further notice, but will be adjusted as Federal, State and Local orders change. The plan is to parallel the reopening of each specific amenity in conjunction with our county and city beaches and parks.
We ask that all residents and guests continue to follow social distancing, handwashing, and public health mandates to help protect our community. We have ample paper towels, trash receptacles, anti-bacterial hand gels, and soap available in the outside bathroom. We also have cleansing products available on some of the picnic tables. Make sure to wipe down your table after use to keep our neighbors safe. Don’t linger too long so that everyone can enjoy a little picnic time!
Please remember to social distance so we can keep moving forward with our much-anticipated, soft re-opening process.
Happy May, everyone!

Your Board and Staff are pleased to announce that the beach club sand areas, outside bathroom and paddle tennis courts (singles only) are now available for your enjoyment! This decision coincides with the new recreational usage allowances made by the County of Orange and City of San Clemente on May 15, 2020. Please note that the picnic tables, playground equipment and the interior of the beach club will remain closed until further notice, but will be adjusted as Federal, State and Local orders change. The plan is simply to parallel the reopening of each specific amenity in conjunction with our county and city beaches and parks.
Unfortunately, due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we are postponing our Memorial Weekend grand opening and band night, but will keep you posted once rescheduled. In the meantime, we ask that all residents and guests follow social distancing, handwashing, and public health mandates to help protect our community while providing safe beach recreation. We have ample paper towels, trash receptacles, anti-bacterial hand gels, and soap available in the outside bathroom. Please only use what you need so that everyone stays protected. Clean up after yourself. Your staff will sanitize the bathroom as needed.
A list of paddle tennis “dos and don’ts” will be posted on the courts tomorrow. The most important thing to note is that the city and county are only allowing single play at all tennis and Pickleball courts. Do not play doubles and/or congregate in masses -- or it will ruin the privilege for everyone else.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation. Things are looking bright! See you on the beach!
STAY CLEAN. STAY SMART. STAY HEALTHY!
